ABBOTABAD: The Peshawar High Court’s Abbottabad bench has ordered to mantain the status quo on Thursday against the construction of an amusement park in Cantonment Park Abbottabad (CBA).

Advocate Zafar Iqbal represented petitioners Advocate Anila Amir, Noman Rasheed and Abid Hussain, from Qudrat Organization. The petitioners said CBA had allowed the construction of swings and other recreational facilities a few months back to establish an amusement park. The petitioners were advocating for a clean and pollution-free environment for the residents of Abbottabad. They said the new construction was permitted on the basis of political pressure. As per the petitioners, these constructions would radically alter the clean environment of Cantonment Park and thereby deprive citizens of their fundamental rights.
