Irregularities: PMS exams challenged

PCS claimed matter was result of staff negligence

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Management Services examination has been challenged at the Peshawar High Court. Its cancellation and fresh announcement of the exams have been sought.

A petition filed by a candidate, Sakina Ali, through her counsel Mian Mohibllah Kakakhel claimed that a paper was leaked and solved papers were given to some candidates.

The petitioner said that she participated in PMS examination, while mass irregularities were observed during the course of examination as mobile phones were openly used.

She added during the course of examinations, question papers were leaked as well as photos of question papers were leaked through mobile phones outside the examination hall. She maintained solved papers were sent back to the candidates through mobile softwares like Whatsapp, Viber with no check and balance.

The petitioner claimed that when the issue was brought to the notice of the Public Service Commission, it replied that it was a matter of mismanagement and negligence of staff in the examination hall.

It said that as per rules, the candidates were bound to submit the question paper along with solved paper but in most cases the solved papers were submitted without question paper in brazen violation of rules and regulations.

The petitioner claimed that there was no concept of screening test and requested the exams should be cancelled and a new date should be announced for a written test.
