Residents of sectors G-6, G-7 and I-10 have complained that the situation of out-of-order streetlights was problematic for them as they not only have to go out for prayers in mosques in complete darkness but street crimes have also increased.
Fahad Khan, a resident of I-10, said that they had complained to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) several times but to no avail.
Another resident, Saad Ahmed, said the streetlights had become out-of-order causing increase in robbery and road accidents.
The whole area sinks into darkness in the evening, he said.
Zeeshan, a resident of G-7, said residents had demanded the civic agency to repair the inoperative streetlights on priority basis.
