Baldia factory fire case: New charge sheet submitted in ATC

The IO filed the supplementary charge sheet before the Sindh High Court judge

KARACHI: The police submitted on Tuesday a new charge sheet of the Baldia factory fire incident before the anti-terrorism courts’ (ATC) administrative judge. The IO filed the supplementary charge sheet before the Sindh High Court judge who administers the ATCs in the city, following the orders of the district and sessions court that previously heard the case. More than 250 people were burnt to death in the incident that occurred on September 11, 2012. Four years on, the trial has still not initiated due to the changing investigations. Now, the police have nominated two suspects, former MQM leader Hammad Siddiqui and a local office bearer Rehman alias Bhola, in the case, while relieving some 13 people for lack of evidence.
