Awaiting notification: Mayor expected to take oath today

KARACHI: The chairpersons of all District Municipal Corporations (DMCs) in Karachi will take oath today [Tuesday] but no notification was issued for mayor and deputy mayor of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation till the filing of this report. According to the provincial election commission's spokesperson, the district and sessions judges of the respective districts will administrative oath to the chairmen and deputy chairmen of the DMCs. Official sources in the election commission said the oath-taking ceremony of the mayor and deputy mayor cannot be confirmed until a notification is issued in this regard.
