Nuclear Suppliers Group: Jilani presses for Pakistan’s membership

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ambassador to the US Jalil Abbas Jilani has approached the White House, the State Department, important Congress leaders and significant think-tanks and opinion makers in the US calling upon them to support Pakistan’s membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). Ambassador Jilani has built Pakistan’s case for the NSG membership around the country’s unambiguous commitment to the international objectives of the nuclear non-proliferation and robust command and control systems of its civilian nuclear programme, said a press release of Pakistan’s embassy in Washington reaching here on Saturday.
