MUMBAI: Former actor Shatrughan Sinha is proud of his daughter, Dabangg star Sonakshi Sinha, for the devotion she shows towards her work. Heaping praise on her action avatar in forthcoming film Akira, he said even he was not as passionate when it came to action films.
“Sonakshi has done the film with so much devotion and concentration. I was not even like her. She has impressed me,” Shatrughan said.
Akira sees Sonakshi’s character coming to Mumbai from Jodhpur, where she gets into a tiff with the goons of the college she enrols in. The story is about her fight to come out of a case in which the goons and corrupt police officials play crucial roles. “Let us wait for the release and the audience’s feedback. I am happy with Sonakshi’s performance in Akira,” Shatrughan shared. “Even my friends, colleagues from Bollywood and Sonakshi’s seniors are praising her.”
Presented by Fox Star Studios, Akira is directed by A.R. Murugadoss, who has previously directed Sonakshi in the film Holiday. The film, also starring Anurag Kashyap and Konkona Sen Sharma, will release on September 2.
