Or have you too often been in a situation where you are trying to get in touch with an old friend only to find that you have their old number? Or perhaps you are simply lazy and hate manually saving numbers on your phone. Thankfully, there is an app that can help ward off your worries forever!
This Pakistani startup brings recurring customers to small businesses
Launched just last month, Shared is an app that auto-updates your contact list. The aim of the app is to make sure that you always have the most up-to-date contact information on your phone. It will connect with your phone book, which means that every time one of your connections changes a phone number, email address or even their home address in the app, all contacts who have this information through the app will be notified. In addition to changes being automatically stored in the app, the information will also be updated in phone books directly.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, the creator of Shared, Kristian Papadakis exclaimed, "I can't believe we're still manually updating our contact details in such a technologically driven age." He added, "People often lose their phones and change their numbers, and if you don't catch their message and end up calling a number not in use, it's frustrating.”
5 things to consider before launching a start-up
But there is more to the app than having an up-to-date list of existing contacts. Shared also makes connecting with new people a very easy process. Apart from the standard option of manually adding contacts or using QR codes, you can also use the ‘People near me’ feature available in the app. So, instead of trying to find people you just met on social media or manually noting down their number on your phone, you can let the feature work its magic. And it even works if you don’t have signals! Just add a new contact and once you get signals, the synchronisation will automatically begin.
The great thing about the app is that you can choose what information you want to share with specific connections, which gives you the ability to use the same platform for business as well as personal use. Moreover, you can also choose who you wish to share your new details with. And just in case you forget which networking event you met one of your connections at, the app’s feature of remembering where you connected with contacts comes in handy.

Papadakis revealed that at the moment the app is being tested for iPhone users. Once the testing phase is over, Android users will also be able to download the app and it will be updated to enhance user experience with a more sophisticated design and more exciting features.
