KARACHI: A day after the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar announced to dissociate the party from its London office and to make its decisions in Pakistan, the MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday formally handed over the party to its Rabita Committee, said a statement.

The statement, issued from the MQM London Office, did not elaborate as to whether it referred exclusively to the Rabita Committee in Karachi or also included its 10 members in the United Kingdom.

In their press conference, the party’s senior leaders had ‘completely disowned’ Altaf’s anti-state speech at a hunger strike camp outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Monday and announced to disavow the party’s London-based decision making body.
