30% of the development budget was allocated for local bodies

PESHAWAR: People have started realising the benefits of the PTI-led government’s policies which aim to empower the public. This was said by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.

Addressing a delegation of MOL, led by its Chief Operating Officer Dr Berislav Gaso and Group Regional Adviser Ali Murtaza Abbas, he said transparency, decentralisation of authority, operational autonomy of institutions, devolution of powers to grass-roots level, improvement in efficiency of the bureaucracy and services as well as eradication of corruption are at the core of these policies.

To ensure transparency, the PTI-led government has promulgated the Right to Information act and through it, all citizens now have access to the inside affairs of every government institution, Also, operational autonomy through the police act and health sector reforms are proof of PTI’s intentions.

He added 30% of the development budget was allocated for local bodies, while all industrial zones were given to independent bodies managed by autonomous boards.
