Hours after MQM leaders addressed the media at Karachi Press Club, the anchor-politician announced quitting the Karachi-based political party and politics. “I am fed up now. I am not in the MQM from today,” he said on Tuesday during a live show on a private TV channel.
“I apologise again and again to Pakistan and Pakistanis. Nothing is more important to me than Pakistan.”

“If he can’t control himself, he should keep away from politics and write books instead,” he said while referring to MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
In a presser earlier during the day, Sattar said the MQM would disassociate with anyone who resorted to violence and the party affairs would be run from Pakistan.

On Wednesday, MQM chief Hussain officially handed over complete power to the Rabita Committee. “I am handing over complete power related to policy making, decision making as well as organisational authority to the Rabita Committee,” the MQM supremo said while praying to God to grant Rabita Committee the ability to serve the country and its people, as best as possible.
“Leader Altaf Hussain endorses Rabita Committee’s presser; tasks RC to deal with organisational/political issues,” MQM convenor Nadeem Nusrat said on Twitter.
