Rangers’ performance: 800 ‘target killers’ put behind bars

It further alleged that target killers belonging to the militant wing of MQM

Rangers claim to have apprehended more than 800 target killers in Karachi during the ongoing operation in the city.

A performance report issued on Tuesday evening by the paramilitary force stated that a total 848 target killers, involved in 7,224 targeted killings, have so far been apprehended since the Karachi operation began on September 5, 2013.

It further alleged that target killers belonging to the militant wing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were involved in 80% of the cases. About 654 arrested target killers belong to MQM's militant wing and were involved in 5,863 cases of targeted killings, it revealed.

Around 95 target killers belonging to different groups, including those involved in the gang war in Lyari, were involved in 804 cases of the targeted killings.
