Rangers’ performance: 800 ‘target killers’ put behind bars

It further alleged that target killers belonging to the militant wing of MQM

KARACHI: Rangers claim to have apprehended more than 800 target killers in Karachi during the ongoing operation in the city.

A performance report issued on Tuesday evening by the paramilitary force stated that a total 848 target killers, involved in 7,224 targeted killings, have so far been apprehended since the Karachi operation began on September 5, 2013.

It further alleged that target killers belonging to the militant wing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were involved in 80% of the cases. About 654 arrested target killers belong to MQM's militant wing and were involved in 5,863 cases of targeted killings, it revealed.

Around 95 target killers belonging to different groups, including those involved in the gang war in Lyari, were involved in 804 cases of the targeted killings.

Lolz | 8 years ago | Reply Is putting them behind the bars is performance for the taxpayers? 800 target killers mean 800 killings and yet no surety of them being trialed/executed. Such a number of executions are not possible and keeping them behind bars on taxpayers money doesn't seem an option either. The real question is how could such a huge number of murderers managed to survive and if they did so, 1600 more might be prepared even before the end of this batch's trial.

How illegal weapons are smuggled in to Karachi despite of hundreds of check posts across Pakistan.No political party interested to bring bill in assembly to recover illegal weapons.If these so called loyal to country parties sincere in establishing peace and harmony.Then they must bring the bill in assembly without fail.But it will not happen ! Unknown killers facilitators are inside the country!
