SNGPL: Locals protest company’s overbilling 

Meter readers do not come to the area and most of the time

HANGU: The residents of Hangu protested the overbilling and mismanagement by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the district. “We have asked the authorities concerned to curb such practices,” the demonstrators told The Express Tribune on Tuesday. They shouted slogans against the company and demanded it remove hundreds of illegal gas connection in the city. “Due to illegal connections in the district, those who have legal connections are facing problems like low gas pressure in winters and load-shedding in summers,” a protestor, Kareem Khan said. “Meter readers do not come to the area and most of the time, peons are left responsible for correcting overcharged bills at the office. Kareem also said officials and clerical staff is nowhere to be found at the office.
