Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Irum Azeem Farooque has resigned from her party membership, as well as the member of Sindh Assembly.
“Today I resign. Already did it two days ago but didn’t disclosed because of the hunger strike,” she announced on Twitter Monday.
“After watching the videos I feel very embarrassed.”
The development came after violent protests by MQM workers and supporters in Karachi. At least one person was killed and several others injured as protesters stormed ARY News office for not providing the party with ‘due media coverage’.
