Talking to newsmen, the DCO said the club’s swimming pool had been upgraded at a cost of Rs2.2 million. He said there was a dearth of spaces for rest and recreation in the district. “Such places are important to promote healthy activities,” he said. “The district administration is working hard to provide these facilities to citizens and its workers.” He said millions of rupees were being spent construction of sports facilities across the district. “Promoting sports is an essential part of the government’s plans for development.”
