Hafiz Saeed outcast from Islam: Indian seminary

An Uttar Pradesh Islamic seminary on Thursday issued a fatwa against JuD chief Hafiz Saeed terming him anti-Islam.
The edict branded Saeed an “outcast” from Islam and declared those who follow him or consider him Muslim “illegal,” The Indian Express reported. The fatwa was issued by Manzar-i-Islam Saudagran, affiliated with the Dargah Ala Hazrat, in connection with a query by a Jaipur-based man. Saeed has no connection with Islam, the edict stated.

The Jaipur-based man had stated in his query that the JuD chief considered those writing against Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Muslim, was a proponent of anti-religious thought and instigated people to foment terror. In the fatwa, Mufti Saleem stated that having any connection with individuals working against Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was “haram.”

The edict said that since Saeed had connections with such elements, he stood outside the pale of Islam. The fatwa said considering him Muslim and listening to what he said was also forbidden. According to the edict, the JuD chief championed an ideology premised on terrorism and had brought into disrepute Islam and Muslims the world over with his antics. Thus, the edict stated, it was mandatory for all Muslims to keep away from him and his ideology.
