Unlicensed: Seven medical stores sealed

At least seven pharmacies that were allegedly being run against drug rules were sealed in Abbottabad on Wednesday. The drug stores were established within private hospitals and clinics of renowned doctors in Shafique Plaza, Awan Plaza and Mansehra Road. K-P Drugs Inspector Syed Aqib Ali Shah told The Express Tribune action against pharmacies that had no drug licence or were being run through forged permits were sealed during a visit to different private clinics and hospitals. “Seven drug stores were being run against drug rules and were closed,” Shah said. Shafique Medical Store and Kaleem Traders were selling medicines with a fake drug sale licence. The pharmacy of Dr Mumtaz Burki, Dawa Pharmacy – owned by Dr Humaira Jadoon – Gillani Hospital pharmacy and Al-Syed Hospital pharmacy had no drug sale licences.
