At least 11 terrorists were killed and four others injured on Thursday after Pakistan's fighter jets carried out air blitz near Pak-Afghan border, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The air strikes were carried out to target eight terrorists’ hideouts along with synchronised ground operation in the Babar Kachkol, Naray Na and Tor Sapar areas of Rajgal, Khyber Agency.

A day earlier, Pakistan Air Force jets had targeted hideouts of militants in a mountainous region of Khyber Agency right on the border with Afghanistan as army launched an operation to reinforce deployment of troops along the Pak-Afghan border to effectively check movement of terrorists.

Army mounts Khyber-III to secure Pak-Afghan border

The most terrorist-infested regions, including the strategic Tirah Valley, were cleansed in two previous operations, codenamed Khyber-I and II.  According to security officials, operation Khyber-III, which had launched on August 16, would target the terrorists holed up in the area beyond Tirah Valley, right on the Pak-Afghan border.

The country launched the Zarb-e-Azb operation in June 2014 in a bid to wipe out militant bases in North Waziristan tribal area and so bring an end to the bloody insurgency that has cost thousands of lives.
