The Swabi-born leggie also revealed that he did not expect the pitch to help him, and all he was trying to do was help the pacers. “That time I was trying to help my team and especially the fast-bowler,” added Yasir. “But after the first three, four overs, I realised the pitch was helping me, so by the grace of the Almighty, I ended up picking more than five wickets in the first innings.”

Yasir also expressed his delight after playing in front of the large audience he witnessed in a Test match. “I enjoyed a lot, as I have never seen such audience in a Test match before,” he said. “So I really wanted to perform well and win hearts of the crowd as well.
