The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has started vocational training of youth of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) under the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme.
NAVTTC Executive Director Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema said under the programme training was being imparted to the youth of Balochistan, Fata and the far-flung areas on a priority basis.
Over 2,000 students had been trained in various skills including 1,195 male trainees and 805 female trainees. Cheema said instructions had already been given to the heads of institutes to upgrade their labs and workshops and increase the quality and standard of training to ensure better chances for students to secure jobs.
He said a healthy skills competition among the trainees would increase their interest in the courses.
