Gothia cup: Pakistan’s street children win again

Team defeated Hong Kong’s Arksports 6-0 yesterday in Shenyang

KARACHI: Team Pakistan, of the 2014 Street Child World Cup fame, defeated Hong Kong’s Arksports 6-0 yesterday in Shenyang in their second match at the 2016 Gothia Cup. With six points and a positive goal difference of 25 to their name, the Pakistani team leads Group I.

The team seems especially motivated to make amends after their shock pre-quarter-final defeat at the recent Norway Cup.

Their thrashing of Arksports came in the wake of their 19-0 annihilation of Guangmin in their opening match on Sunday, and they will be hoping to keep riding the moment when they face Huimin in their last group match today.



This is the first time that Team Pakistan are participating in Gothia Cup, which is the second biggest youth football tournament in the world after the Norway Cup.
