ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Sunday that people have rejected the negative politics of 'dharna' (sit-ins) and were only supportive of prosperity and development of the country.

"Public has come up with greater realisation and do not support such elements," he said at the launching ceremony of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Premier, the luxury air service of the national flag carrier.

The premier further said that Pakistan was in dire need of negotiation, rather than agitation. "Such attitude in politics can contribute to end poverty and illiteracy from the country," he added.

PM Nawaz said his government believed in taking steps for making the country economically strong and facilitating the common man.

Regarding the launch of PIA Premier, Nawaz Sharif said that the airline was finally coming out of crisis, having faced financial crunch for long. “It would provide better service of shorter air distance with comparatively lesser airfare,” he added.

Nawaz expressed confidence that PIA Premier would maintain the quality of service and help earn the airline bigger profit. APP
