Team Championship: Pakistan win group matches

Defeat Hong Kong and Germany in the event

KARACHI: Pakistan won both of their group matches in the World Junior Squash Team Championship, beating Hong Kong and Germany in the event being played in Poland. In their first match of Group B, second-seeded Pakistan thrashed 15th seeds Germany 3-0.

Ahsan Ayaz won straight games against Sead Redmen with scores of 11-5, 11-4, 11-2, while Abbas Shaukat won 3-0 against Loin Hennard by 11-7, 11-7, 11-3 in the second match. The third match was played between top seeds Israr Ahmad and Tobias Weggen. The match lasted 20 minutes with Ahmad winning 3-0.

In another match, Pakistan won 3-0 against Hong Kong with Ayaz and Shaukat triumphing in straight games. Meanwhile, Ahmad won a five-game battle against Yiu Ng by scores of 4-11, 13-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-4.
