CHITRAL: Four students were injured as the wall of their school collapsed in Zargranda area of Chitral on Thursday.

Locals told The Express Tribune that the students were standing near their school wall waiting for their bus when the incident took place.

As a result, the pupils suffered injuries and were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital, they added.

Meanwhile, parents of the injured students revealed that neither the principal nor any faculty member visited the injured children to inquire about their health.

They also criticised the school's administration and termed them incompetent for using substandard and low quality material in the construction of school walls, leading to the incident.

Earlier on July 17, five people including three children aged five to 10 years were killed and eight others were injured in roof collapse incidents in Lahore following heavy rains.

Similarly, on June 21, four members of a family died and six others sustained injuries when the roof of their house in Gosha Ahbab, Azam Garden, Multan Road collapsed.
