Squash championship: Ahmad advances to semi-finals

Pakistan’s Israr Ahmad moved into the semi-finals of the World Junior Squash Championship after defeating Egypt’s Marwan Tarek 3-2 in the quarter-final.
The players who have progressed into the last-four include top seed Egypt’s Saadeldin Abouaish, Malaysia’s Eain Yow — seeded second — and joint third-seeds Ahmad and Egypt’s Youssef Ibrahim.
Ahmad had a better start in his match as he won the first two games. Tarek stayed alive in the match by managing to win the closely contested third game.
Squash rues golfers’ Olympic withdrawals
The Egyptian then upped the game in the fourth game and won easy to take the match into the decider which was eventually won by Ahmad.
