Tragic: Rescue worker dies, two injured

LAHORE: A Rescue-1122 worker died and two workers were injured after a high-tension electricity wire fell on their fire-rescue vehicle in an Iqbal Town police precinct on Wednesday.

The Rescue-1122 had received a fire emergency call from Rachna Block.

A three-member fire-fighting team was dispatched to the area within minutes.

They were on their way when a high voltage electric wire fell on the vehicle in Raza Block Iqbal Town.

The fire-rescue vehicle also caught fire.

Another rescue team disconnected the wire from the pole and took the injured to Shaikh Zayed Hospital, where the driver of the vehicle, Muhammad Mudassir, 35, was pronounced dead.

Rescue-1122 workers Shahzad Jabbar and Hammad Raza were stated to be in stable condition.
