Tragic end: Cop succumbs to injuries at LRH  

His one leg was amputated and he was in critical condition due to multiple injuries

PESHAWAR: A police constable, who was injured in a suicide attack near Charsadda bus stand a few days ago, succumbed to injuries at the hospital on Monday.

While speaking to The Express Tribune, a police official deployed at Lady Reading Hospital said that traffic police constable, Sajjad, who was injured along with five others in a roadside blast on Charsadda Road, was in critical condition and one of his legs was amputated by doctors.

“His one leg was amputated and he was in critical condition due to multiple injuries,” he said. The police official maintained Sajjad succumbed to his injuries after battling for his life for several days.

Around 15 policemen have been killed and several others injured in Peshawar in terrorist attacks this year. In June 2016, a policeman was killed and at least three officials injured in a road-side bomb attack in Peshawar.

The bomb targeted a police vehicle in the Garhi Sobat Khan area, within the jurisdiction of Khazana police station, Peshawar. Sub-Inspector Qayum Dad was killed in the blast, SSP Operations Abbas Majeed Marwat confirmed at the time.
