A computer simulation and research laboratory was inaugurated on Monday at the chemical engineering department of University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar.
The department’s chairperson, Dr Muhammad Younas, highlighted the significance of the laboratory during the inauguration ceremony. “With the launch of this newly established laboratory, the department will be able to provide equipment design and process to the industry.”
He said the chemical engineering department can meet the challenges related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in terms of energy, innovation and design needed for industrial zones in K-P. He thanked UET VC Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain for providing the financial support to set up the new lab.

He also appreciated the potable drinking water plant designed by the department and said the facility will be able to provide clean drinking water to flood affected areas of K-P.
Also present on the occasion were UET Peshawar Registrar Dr Khizar Khayat, Treasurer, Naik Muhammad, Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization Director Dr Saeed Gul and faculty members and students of the chemical engineering department were also present on the occasion.
