According to the price list issued by the Market Committee, prices of lemon rose by 38 per cent. They sold for Rs87 to Rs95 per kilogramme.
Capsicum prices rose by 21 per cent as compared to last week. They were available for Rs65 to Rs70 per kg. Chinese ginger prices rose by 20 per cent. It was available for Rs78 to Rs85 per kg.
Similarly, prices of carrots (a Chinese variety) rose by 16 per cent. They were selling for Rs46 to Rs50 per kg. A local variety was available for Rs37 to Rs40 per kg.
Fenugreek (methi) prices rose by 12 per cent this week. It was selling for Rs42 to Rs45 per kg. Bottle gourd prices rose by 11 per cent. It was available for Rs46 to Rs50 per kg. Pumpkin prices rose by 11 per cent. These were selling for Rs10 per kg.
Green peas were available for Rs154 to Rs165 per kg after their price rose by six per cent. Cucumber and bitter gourd prices rose by two per cent. These were available for Rs42 to Rs45 and Rs51 to Rs55 per kg, respectively.
Desi round gourds, cabbages, brinjals, desi green chilies, spinach, okra, onions, cauliflowers, desi and Chinese garlic, turnips, tomatoes, taro roots (arvi), potatoes and radishes prices were cheaper than last week.
Round gourd prices fell by 31 per cent. These were available for Rs56 to Rs60 per kg. Cabbage prices dropped by 28 per cent and to Rs50 to Rs53 per kg. Brinjal prices were down by 27 per cent. These were selling for Rs26 to Rs30 per kg.
Desi green chilies prices fell by 12 per cent and were available for Rs56 to Rs60 per kg. A ‘farmed’ variety was available for Rs37 to Rs40 per kg. Spinach prices also witnessed an 11 per cent decline. These were available for Rs23 to Rs25 per kg.
Okra prices dropped by 10 per cent. It was available for Rs65 to Rs70 per kg. Onion prices came down by 10 per cent and these were available for Rs16 to Rs18 per kg. Cauliflower prices dropped by nine per cent. It was selling for Rs46 to Rs50 per kg.
Prices of Chinese as well as local varieties of garlic were lower by six per cent. It was selling for Rs220 and Rs188 per kg, respectively.
Turnip and tomato prices dropped by six per cent. They were available for Rs30 and Rs59 per kg.
Taro roots and potato prices were lower by five per cent during the week. Taro roots were available for Rs51 to Rs55 and potatoes for Rs37 to Rs40 per kg.
