Ahmad claims CNS Golf Championship

Shoots 12-under-par 276 to finish ahead of rivals

KARACHI: Lahore Garrison Club’s Matloob Ahmad clinched the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Open Golf Championship at Karachi Golf Club yesterday with an aggregate score of 12-under-par 276.

Following Ahmad in second place was Shabbir Iqbal, who shot an eight-under-par 280, while Shafiq Masih rounded up the top three, thanks to his seven-under-par 281.

Elsewhere, in amateur gross category, Muhammad Sharif of Pakistan Navy won by scoring eight-over-par 296 gross, whereas Muhammad Ziaraf triumphed in net category by carding a two-under-par 286.

Meanwhile, in senior professional category, Imdad Hussain finished on top with a six-under-par 138, while Nasir Masih’s nine-over-par 153 elevated him to the top in junior professional category.
