A transgender activist succumbed to her injuries after she was shot dead in Peshawar

ABBOTABAD: A person who is transgender was injured during aerial firing at a wedding ceremony in Abbottabad on Saturday night. A police official told The Express Tribune on Sunday that a criminal case was registered against the bridegroom after the incident. “The incident occurred at a remote village of Bandi Maira union council,” he said.

According to the police official, Asad, son of Raja Muhammad Ajab, a resident of Chatarnak village, was under way on Saturday night.

“A group of jubilant participants resorted to aerial firing,” he said. “The bullet hit a transgender person who was dancing at the event.”

As per the official, the injured was later identified as Jamshed.

“He was hit in the left thigh,” he said. “He was rushed to Benazir Shaheed Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad.” The official added he was out of danger.

In May, a transgender activist succumbed to her injuries after she was shot dead in Peshawar.
