“I was walking on the jetty and was nearly done when I saw a few people looking at the water under the jetty. So I looked down and saw the dead body,” Azmi told Tech in Asia. He posted some photos on Facebook, showing the corpse as well as police and civil defense personnel gathering at the scene.

Azmi was shocked by what he saw. “Before this I read news of things that happened overseas, such as people trespassing while playing the game, getting robbed, and finding dead bodies,” he says. “I did not think it will happen in Singapore and to myself.”

A Singapore Police Force (SPF) spokesman confirmed that the police received a call at Woodlands Waterfront Park at 9.41am. Upon arrival, officers found the body of a woman in the water.

In the US, a 19-year-old teen also found a dead body while she was hunting for Pokemon by a river.
