MULTAN:

Cotton Research Institute (CRI) is being shifted to Multan to carry out research on the climate of the cotton-growing zone, said Agriculture Secretary Muhammad Mehmood while inspecting varieties of cotton at Cotton Research Station. He directed the research director general to prepare varieties of short height which are able to mature within the shortest time span, can resist diseases and cope with sudden climate changes. He said that a regulatory authority was being established to make recommended seeds available to farmers. Earlier, he inspected the Floriculture Research Sub-station and De-Hydration Plant.
