Honouring the brave: Sherpao pays tribute to slain police officials

Urges nation to follow in their footprints

PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairperson Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao paid tribute to senior police officer Safwat Ghayur and other personnel of the force who lost their lives in the line of duty. According to a press release on Thursday, Sherpao remembered their sacrifices for the sake of maintaining peace in Pakistan and particularly Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Eulogising the police sacrifices, he said the late Safwat Ghayur and other policemen played a pivotal role and their names would be written in golden words in Pakistan’s history.

Talking to the media on Youm-e-Shuhada Day and the sixth death anniversary of Safwat Ghayur at Aaqa Baba graveyard, Sherpao said police forces were deployed in various parts of the province to protect and secure the lives of citizens. He maintained the K-P police worked courageously for the past several years, aiming to maintain durable peace and progress in the province.

On the occasion, other ministers and senior party leaders, including Minister for Irrigation and Social Welfare Sikandar Khan Sherpao, Minister for Labour and Mineral Development Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli, K-P Assembly MPAs Bakht Baidar Khan, Hashim Babar, QWP K-P General Secretary Tariq Ahmad Khan, Provincial Information Secretary Adbul Karim Tordher and office bearers of the party’s youth wing and Peshawar district were present.
