Academic session to start on April 12

KARACHI: The next academic session has been delayed due to the floods and will begin from April 12, said Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq during the steering committee on education’s meeting on Monday.

It was also decided that the current academic year will be extended and classes will continue till March 31. Exams for all classes have also been delayed as Matric exams will begin from April 18 and the Intermediate exams will begin from May 16. A decrease in the number of public holidays and vacations is also under consideration, he said. The results of Matriculation exams will be announced on July 31 but the Karachi Board will announce the results by August 15. Summer vacation will be from June 1 to July 31 while winter vacation will be from December 22 and to December 31.

aysha majeed | 13 years ago | Reply Summer break, when it is oppressive summer not in the monsoon. Could the semmer break be scheduled keeping the seasonal change in mind. May is quite hot in Karachi that is when kids need break from school. Not in July when there are rains and it cools off.
