K-P getting chillier, wetter by the day

Rain and snowfall continue with intermittent intervals in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.

PESHAWAR: Rain and snowfall continued with intermittent intervals in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata). Saidu Sharif in Swat received the most rain (73mm), followed by Peshawar (33mm) during the last three days, the meteorological office said on Monday.

According to the met office, the spell will continue in K-P, upper parts and adjoining hilly areas of Swat, Galayat, Hazara and Chitral in next 24 hours. Chitral was disconnected from other parts of the country through land routes due to heavy snowfall on Lowari Top. The hills of Chitral, Swat and Galayat received snowfall and rain during the last 24 hours.

The met office forecast rain of moderate to heavy intensity, coupled with heavy snow over the hills on Monday in the upper parts of K-P including Swat, Shangla, Dir, Mardan, Swabi, Charsada, Bunair, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Batgram, Haripur districts and Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad, Neelum, Kotli and Bagh districts.
