Unexplained circumstances: Three nomad girls die after six attempt suicide

The exact cause of their extreme step has yet to be detemined

ATTOCK: In a shocking incident, at least three nomad girls died under unexplained circumstances in Attock on Tuesday, with police treating the case as an attempted suicide, it was revealed to The Express Tribune.

According to the police, six girls from a nomad family have tried to commit suicide by ingesting poison after developing differences with the family over some domestic issue. Three of them died in a local hospital later.

However, the exact cause of their extreme step has yet to be known, the police said. Rescue 1122 officials shifted the girls to the Asfandyar Headquarters Hospital where three of them identified as Fauzia, Makhani and Sana died.

The other three girls have been referred to the Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi where the condition of two girls was stated to be serious.

All of them are close relatives and one of the deceased girls, identified as Fauzia, was stated to be married at the end of this month.

Police have registered a case and started investigation.
