Hit-and-run: Two killed in separate incidents

GUJAR KHAN: At least two men were killed, while two others were seriously injured, in separate road accidents on GT Road, in Gujar Khan on Tuesday.

The first incident took place at Galyana Pul when a speeding dumper, driven by an unidentified driver, hit three members of a family on a motorbike.

A resident of Dhoke Syedan, Mulazim Hussain, 45, died on the spot.

Meanwhile, his son, Iftikhar Hussain, and his brother Shan, sustained serious injuries.

They were taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital for medico-legal formalities, from where they were referred to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition.

The deceased’s body was handed over to his family.

In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was hit by a speeding trailer (JU-5910) on the GT Road.

The deceased, identified as Ali Akhtar, a resident of Sikhu, died on the spot.

His body was taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital for medico-legal formalities and was later handed over to his family.

The police have registered separate cases against the drivers, both of whom fled, and have started an investigation.
