A video of a schoolteacher beating up minor students in Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) has gone viral on the internet.

The 96 second-video, which was recorded through a mobile phone camera, shows a person beating and running after the minors with a stick in his hand.

The teacher did not stop beating the children even when they started crying and running for help.

According to Express News, police have arrested the teacher, and a case has been registered in accordance with the K-P Child Protection and Welfare Act 2010.

A bill was also passed in the National Assembly in 2013 for protecting the dignity of children.

Any person involved in inflicting harsh punishment on children will have to serve up to one year imprisonment and pay Rs50,000 as a fine, the bill states.
