A coal mine worker was electrocuted to death in Doli, Lower Orakzai Agency on Tuesday.

An official of political administration told The Express Tribune Umarbaz was working in a coal mine in Sarai Khona when he accidentally touched an electricity wire. He died on the spot. The body of deceased was shifted to his native village for burial.

Earlier on July27, a labourer died while another was injured when a coalmine was hit by a landslide in Doli area. A political administration official said two labourers, Khairullah and Abdul Islam, were working in Al-Hussaini Coalmine when one part of the mine collapsed. As a result, Khairullah died on the spot while Abdul Islam  was wounded.



He said rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured and deceased to the hospital. At least 300 labourers, mostly young people have lost their lives while working in coal mines in Lower Orakzai Agency alone.
