KARACHI:

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) chairman Absar Aalam on Monday said that “respect of law” helps develop institutions and the country. Efforts are being made so that the laws formed by Pemra should be followed by private television channels and cable operators, he said while visiting the offices of cable operators and managements of private television channels here on Monday. He said Pemra is an independent organisation, arguing that its laws should be followed by the organisations concerned. He said his visit to Karachi aims at meeting cable operators and managements of private televisions channels to take account of their problems.
