BATKHEL:
A week-long campaign has been initiated in Batkhela, Malakand to raise awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding. Malakand DHO Dr Wakeel said breastfeeding is vital for child’s development and nourishment. “It has all the nutrition’s and vitamins for healthy development of baby from infancy to the age of two,” he said. “The breast milk is filled with disease-fighting substances that protect the baby from illness.” The campaign, organised by District Headquarters Hospital Batkhela and the health department, has tasked 500 lady health workers to heighten awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding.
