New Sindh CM II

Letter August 02, 2016
We know that the strings will be pulled by the same leadership

KARACHI: The move by the PPP to appoint a young and energetic man, Syed Murad Ali Shah, as the chief minister of Sindh is highly appreciated. However, it is difficult to understand what triggered the change after eight years of continuous poor governance in the province. Did the PPP leadership suddenly awaken, after nearly a decade? The problems of law and order, the health and education sectors and corruption are some of the major issues of the province that Syed Qaim Ali Shah and his team were unable to tackle. It will be interesting to see what steps the new chief minister takes on these burning issues. However, we know that the strings will be pulled by the same leadership; only the faces are being shuffled by the drowning PPP to desperately grab hold of a straw in order to regain its position for the upcoming elections.
