Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has acquired the services of English coach Carl Crowe in order to rectify Mohammad Hafeez’s bowling action so that he can retake his bowling assessment test, according to Press Trust of India.

Crowe is a Leicester-based biomechanist, who is said to have a great understanding of the motion analysis system with a minimum of 12 high speed cameras capable of producing three-dimensional data which is used in the bowling assessment tests conducted under International Cricket Council (ICC) protocol.

As per a senior PCB official, Crowe has already started working with Hafeez in Worcestershire. “Crowe has worked a lot with West Indian spinner Sunil Narine and the results were good,” said the official. “Crowe’s name was also recommended to us by the team management.”

Mohammad Hafeez to reapply for bowling test

The 35-year-old’s ban from bowling in international cricket expired on July 12, and he is now eligible to appear in a bowling assessment test.

According to the official, the all-rounder would undergo the bowling assessment test before the ODI series against England.

Hafeez yet to recover from troublesome knee

“He was not working on his bowling action due to a knee injury which has now improved a lot, and he himself is keen to play and bowl in the ODI series,” he said.

Hafeez had his bowling action reported last year after the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in June. Prior to his ban, he was a key player for Pakistan as he claimed 52 wickets in 47 Tests.

Wrong type of Coach | 8 years ago | Reply What about his complete failure with the bat against quality bowlers? Any plans for that?
سے Shaam (Hanafi) | 8 years ago | Reply The picture itself portrays a clear bend in the arm with a tight long sleeves shirt to camouflage it. Now the question is, Hafeez being an opening batsman, How can he hit a cover drive or a straight drive with a 15 degrees or more bend in a bowling arm. does he straighten his arm while batting or bend it while bowling?
