He pointed out that the matter involves factual controversy. “The Supreme Court of Pakistan cannot entertain a petition under Article 184(3), if, filed seeking disqualification of prime minister,” said SCBA President Ali Zafar while speaking to The Express Tribune.

He contended that prime minister’s wealth in the garb of offshore companies requires evidence.
However, SCBA president said that the disqualification of the prime minister is only possible if an inquiry commission is formed and evidence is recorded.

Zafar also said that former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s judgments regarding the disqualification of number of parliamentarians are not legally correct. He added that the temperament of the incumbent judiciary is different and they decide cases in accordance with the laws.
