Wearable devices are the latest sensation in the tech industry, which have also attracted the interest of tech giants such as Apple and Samsung with each company having its own line of smartwatches.

The latest comes from Samsung, which is all set to launch the latest addition to it’s Gear Series of wearables at IFA, the world's second largest technology show which will take place from September 2-7, 2016.

Samsung to unveil smartphone 'Note 7' on August 2

The device’s release date comes from SamMobile, which also falls in line with earlier rumours. The September launch also makes sense since Samsung also plans to unveil its flagship Note 7 smartphone on August 2.

As to the possible design, SamMobile claims the Gear S3 would feature the rotating bezel, which came in the last gen also implying the device would have a circular face rather than a square one. The bezel was used as a tool to scroll over menus in the last device.

Is Samsung Galaxy S7 Active really water-resistant?

The device might also provide more customisation options, if Samsung is willing to keep the wearable brand alive for the future.

The release of the new Gear S is something to be excited about as the device sits at the top of Android wearable and is a competitor to the AppleWatch.
