ABBOTTABAD: A boy was raped in Mangal village in Abbottabad on Friday.
According to a police official, Naveed Khan, the uncle of the seven-year-old boy, said the incident occurred when his nephew was returning home from school.
“Basharat, his neighbour lured the boy inside his house and raped him,” he said. Medical reports confirmed that he had been raped.
“We have registered a case against the accused under Section 377 of Pakistan Penal Code,” he said. “However, we have not been able to arrest the accused.”
In a separate incident, a rape case was registered a month-and-a-half after the incident. The woman, a mother of two, was collecting firewood from a forest in Darband when the incident occurred. On her complaint, a medical examination was carried out and an enquiry was also launched.
“During this process, both parties were attempting to reach a compromise but failed to do so,” a police official said. “This is why the process of registering the FIR was delayed.”
