KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Thursday accused the Sindh Rangers of arresting UC9 organiser Muhammad Samad, committee member Imran Sarmadi and Adnan in a raid on the party’s offices in Shah Faisal Colony and Surjani Town, respectively.

Calling the action “illegal and unconstitutional”, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Rabita Committee claimed that at present the Rangers “do not have policing powers and are thus not authorised to raid or arrest anyone in Karachi”.

PPP backs MQM over Karachi operation

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement said party chief Altaf Hussain was about to address workers when the party offices were surrounded.

The party alleged that the Rangers men harassed and threatened them and raided the house of UC joint-organiser Muhammad Yasir.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement appealed to rights groups to take notice of this violation of human rights, and called for an end to such practices.

Seems like some political party is using a team in the name of anti terrorist squad to wipe out MQM. PS: I am from Punjab and don't support MQM, hate Altaf the retarded, but this is some political garbage going on in Karachi.

SYED | 8 years ago | Reply Ok, I'm not in favor of MQM and generally back Rangers for their objective of peaceful Karachi. But, what about other party with whom MQM was fighting? Remember, couple of years back, when there were on average 30-35 people used to be killed when MQM, PPP, and ANP were fighting? So what about those parties ? Why ONLY MQM ?

Keep the operation going at full force. We don't want the Karachi of 4 years ago where target killers were killing dozens everyday! Over 6000 people got killed in Karachi in the 5 years before operation. Only rangers and army has the power and will to stop this. Keep crushing enemies of the Pakistani Citizens!
