LAHORE: Falak Shabir is one of the few names that come to mind when one starts counting artistes that have managed to establish massive fan followings on both sides of the border. He may not be as popular amongst the followers of Pakistan’s pop-rock scene but he has created his own fan club, one that spreads wider than a ghetto. Best known for hits like Tu Mera Dil, Junooniyat, Ik Waar and Ijazat, the singer recently launched the video for his new song at a press conference in Lahore.
Addressing a large media gathering at the Lahore Press Club, Falak spoke about his new song and how he has tried to tweak his signature style. “I am well aware of the changing trends in the music industry which is why I have tried to come up with a new variety,” he explained. “I am here to launch the video for my latest song Main Ki Kara and I hope that it meets the same success and appreciation as all my other tracks did.” The pop star also thanked fans for supporting him throughout his career and musical journey at large.
The Tera Saath Ho hit-maker went on to discuss the themes behind the new song. The single tells the tale of a broken person who has lost the direction in his life. He is in a constant battle with himself and the world in an attempt to find the right path. “Main Ki Kara also features legendary producer Dr Zeus, something that I am extremely pleased about. He has definitely shown why he is hailed as one of the finest in the world.”
Falak added that the track is a unique combination of Sufi and urban music, penned by famous Indian lyricist Jaani and composed by B Paraak. It is releasing simultaneously in Pakistan, USA and the UK.
The video was shot in London, supervised by Indian director Hasinth Pathrirana. “Hasinth created a unique performance-based video that expresses emotions through dance,” shared the singer. “Having witnessed the making, I can say with complete confidence that it has the potential to become the best video of 2016. It has inspired me to continue making similar, superior quality videos in the future.” Falak takes immense pride in the fact that his work has allowed him to represent Pakistan through performances in different countries. “This is only the beginning of my career and I believe that it will take constant struggle and hard work, but I am willing to give it my very best.”
At the press conference, Falak unveiled the much anticipated video for the new song which met with applause from the audience. Along with the video, the singer also displayed snippets from previous concerts around the world and briefed the audience with his achievement in the music industry on both sides of the border. Upon the request of attendees, he crooned his new track and revealed that he will soon be touring different cities across Pakistan to promote his new project.
